Blockchain Interoperability – Basics and Concrete Use Cases displayed by the PantosIO Project

Blockchain interoperability allows scattered and isolated ecosystems to connect. This can enable network effects and the establishment of a token economy. However, business implications of blockchain interoperability are still being researched. In a first step, the joint research project with RBI & Pantos/Bitpanda & ABC elaborates on the following questions: What are potential use cases regarding blockchain interoperability? Which interoperability mechanism and implementation should be chosen? Is the target use case beneficial from a user- and business perspective? Combining their resources, RBI & Pantos/Bitpanda & ABC together with technology provider Billon are in a unique position to experimentally validate findings in future project phases.

This represents the topic, which Stefan Schulte (Associate Professor at the Distributed Systems Group at TU Wien/ Christian Doppler Laboratory Blockchain Technologies for the Internet of Things – CDL-BOT), Philip Gahler and Christof Spanring (both Pantos/Bitpanda) will cover during the 4th ABC Blockchain Talk, on April 29th, 2021.
